Luv Duggal, UK Sales Manager
Founded in 1999, Attix5 was one of the first developers to champion Online Backup and Recovery for the distributed environment. Mission focus and generous inward R&D investment have sustained the brand’s corporate advantage over competitor offerings in South Africa, the UK, Switzerland and Australia.
Many end-users still rely on tape or disk storage – often even at institutional level where common sense or even legislation demand more effective mechanics be deployed. Increasingly, there are few things more important to an enterprise than its data. Its loss or compromise can lead to impairment or total loss of function. Key criteria when evaluating backup options are automation, reporting (confirmation that backup is occurring), user-friendliness and efficient recovery.
Given the massive advantages to business and executives of the mobile computing environment, its great Achilles’ Heel is vulnerability of data of loss or corruption. Attix5 architecture is designed to eliminate that weak point and validate the mobile enterprise wherever it is most needed.
What unique selling points do you offer?
Online Backup and Recovery, Secure Backup, Data Preservation and protection, Bandwidth efficiency, Data Encryption, Incremental Backups, Storage efficiency through Data De-Duplication.
Describe the services you offer?
As the undoubted successor to tape, disk or RAID data backup, Online Backup and Recovery capability is a major boon for the distributed enterprise that uses data in any shape or form. With ongoing development of backup and recovery software Attix5 users enjoy low-maintenance data backup via an intuitive GUI solution.
Describe your target market?
Enterprises with 1 to 100,000 users of servers, desktop or mobile computers.
How is your company planning for the future?
Bandwidth is consistently and constantly increasing and becoming cheaper. The development team at Attix5 is looking at efficiently utilising increasing bandwidth availability and maximizing the opportunities that will present. Already, one of the firm’s most recent R&D achievements is helping enterprises cope with the ever increasing demands on storage space. One enhancement we have deployed this year is a de-duplication facility in our latest release. This optimises utilisation of storage space and ensures that our solution operates at optimum efficiency.
With the exponential growth of workforce mobility and resulting demands on portable IT, the mechanical advantages of Online Backup (OLB) over old-fashioned media like tape and disk will attract more followers all the time. Attix5 is committed to delivering the best OLB solutions for the distributed environment.
What benefits can you offer your customers?
Total peace of mind in regard to safety of your data. Generally, one session is all it takes to set-up directories, folders, documents, images etc. for an automated backup to a safe remote site. From then the backup happens in the background to your working environment at whatever interval you specify (hourly to monthly). An intelligent key within the software detects changes between backups and so the current stored data is updated only with altered data and not the entire data selection – known as de-duping. In the event of data loss, theft or damage to a laptop, or a need for remote access to your data via webmail, your information can be restored and/or accessed at a keystroke.
How do you support your customers?
Constant and consistent development of our product is routinely communicated to a network of conscientious distributors, resellers and service providers. Service levels necessarily vary according to the nature of the customer-facing business. The idea is never to have customers left suspended without constructive assistance.
